printer problem

reinstalled windows xp professional and downloaded
software for printer (xerox workcenter 470cx). When I
pull up anything on the computer and go to file/print or
to the printer icon in the toolbar the printer will not
respond. what is my problem?? Also printer is not
receiving any faxes!!
