printer problem

hi friends well i am been trying to add my lexmark X5150 to my pc i am
using windos XP First I receive this,” print spooler service” it’s not
running so I did try to do it manually but then I have this ERROR 1075
“the dependency does not exist or has been marked for deletion” so I am
lost do not what to do can you help me.
