Printer problem after xp pack 2 update install

After my computer was updated with the new service pack and ie7 I began
having problems printing to my epson cx6400. it will upon a fresh reboot
generally print 1 page before acting up but not always. I get a few lines of
the document I try to print with the rest of the page blank. Next I get a
number of blank sheets fed thru or sheets with a few lines off strange
characters and it will continue doing this for some time. When I went in to
the printer utility to cancel the printer job there is none listed. the only
remedy is turning of my printer. I've tried the steps recommended under ms
support including clearing temp files, changer printer properties to print
directly to printer, etc with no luck. I've wasted a large amount of time on
this already and will buy a new printer tomorrow if I can't get a good
answer. Please help. Thanks, Brian

Have you tried un-installing the printer software, with the printer off
re-boot and then re-install the latest version of the printer drivers from
Epson?

Also note that IE7 has caused a number of weird problems and this just may
another side of effect of IE7.
