printer not recognised

I have just upgraded my Windows 98 to XP and now my
printer won't work even after installing the drivers. The
system does not recognise the printer. Is there any way I
can check the ports available on the system as it is only
recognising the LPT port. My printer uses a USB port and
it was working fine before I upgraded.

You upgraded... if you kept the printer connected during the upgrade the
drivers are corrupt.

Uninstall and reinstall using the instructions at
http://www.coribright.com/windows/Article One.htm

After the reboot, install the new software. Do NOT connect the printer
until the software tells you to do so.
