Printer Installation -- Over and Over

I've "Googled" this without success although I suspect there is a relatively
easy solution. I had to reinstall the software for a LJ 3330 and while the
printer installed, Windows (XP SP3) "discovers" the printer at each bootup
and wants to install it again. I've deleted and reinstalled the software
several times and still can't get Windows to recognize that it IS installed.
Any ideas??

Just let the dialog continue and reinstall it again.

yes it's a dumb but it will stop the nagging
I have done that -- that was at the heart of a number of re-installs.
Unfortunately it doesn't seem to learn -- I have discovered an HP utility
that is supposed to wipe the all-in-one software and I'm going to try that.
I'll post what I find.

Thanks for trying to help.♦

The HP utility supports only OfficeJet model all-in-one computers -- that
turned out to be a blind alley.

Googling found this.

The New Hardware Wizard may detect the printer device after every
restart of the computer
