Printer icons disappear

Installed and printed test pages from several printers.
Icons for printers no longer appear in printers and faxes
folder.If i now select a printer in say MSWORD all the
printers are listed. Printing from applications is not
effected.

This has now happend on 3 out of 10 different PC's i have
set up. If you look in any of the XP user groups you find
that this is a common problem but no one seems to have any
ansewrs.

Usually caused by the Print Spooler having stopped. Try restarting it by
typing

net start spooler

from the command prompt
