Printer driver was not installed.

Hi! Trying to install an OKI C5200 driver, on a Windows
2000 server, I get this message: "Printer driver was not
installed. Operation could not be completed" (using
terminal server).

The strange thing is that we can install the driver on
several of the servers(all w2k) in our network, but on two
of the servers it fails. Installing it locally on a pc
works fine.

- We get the same error with a HP LaserJet 5/5M Postscript
driver.
- OK5300U1.INI and OK5300U1.PPD should generate a file
called OK5300U1.BPD. This does not happen.
- Using Filemon it looks like the spooler.exe should
finish the installation, but it does not start.

Any ideas?

Hi Nic! Yes its possible to install other printdrivers. It
was just a lucky guess that I couldnt install the HP
driver. There is no error message in the log.

I am waiting for OKI to contact their develper so they can
tell me what the installation does in detail.

I will answer this myself. The solution was to delete the
print queue on printers that had gone offline. Found
three printers with about 7-8 prints and deleted them.
Now the installation worked. I guess the spooler was to
busy.
