printer drive

I have a hp 1220c Printer? I can not install latest
drivers for windows xp and
everytime I start my computer it says that it has found
new hardware and
starts installing the drivers for the hp 1220c Printer.

This is annoying? anyone have any ideas on how to fix it?

1. Physically disconnect your printer from your computer.
2. Open your Control Panel and uninstall any HP printer software
listed in the Add or Remove Programs applet.
3. Go to Start > Settings > Printers and Faxes, right-click
on any printer icons and select "delete".
4. Visit www.hp.com and download the latest Windows XP
compatible software/drivers for your specific printer model.
5. Install the software drivers per HP's instructions.
6. Reconnect your printer to your computer.
