Printer costs and advice

I was asking about color *lasers* whose prints rather surprised me
for informal distribution. As far as I know, all color lasers use
separate cartridges. I am not interested in ink jets.

The UK Consumer Association has regular reports on PC printers, as they
change frequently. Their reports include realistic cost-per page which
factors in the price of replacement cartridges. They also do reports on
third-party vs. original cartridges. You may find some information on
http://www.which.co.uk or you maybe able to find similar reports from US
organisations in your local library.
In over forty years, I've never been disappointed by anything bought
based on such recommendations.
