Updates and interference with restore settings.

Because of the ham-handed way in which MS applies updates, it is
necessary to demount my external back-up hard disc before
applying them. I do *not* monitor the external disc but, after a
reboot, Windows turns the monitoring on in the Restore settings
.. Does anyone know how to prevent Windows interfering with my
settings?

TIA

Thanks Bert!

I did navigate to the folder filelist.xml but most files seem to
refer to the system partition (D: disc, on my machine) not the
external G: disc that is the one I wish to exclude from
monitoring.

In SR-RP, it is indicated that there are no restore points for
C: and G:, exactly as I now have it set but I'll bet it will
include G: after the next update :)

Rebooting the machine directly does not change the monitoring
even after I have "safely removed" G:

Hi James,

I haven't tested but was told it will work. Wait is what happens next time
update runs.
