Printed Jobs not Deleting from Queue

B

Bruce E.

I've just configured 2 Win2000 Pro PCs to print to a newly
installed HP LJ-8550dn via TCP/IP to its JetDirect port.
I used the latest available PCL5 driver from the HP
website.

The jobs print fine; however, they remain in the print
queues on each PC with a status of "printed". When the PC
boots the next day, all of the jobs print again and still
remain in the queue. The "Save Printed Jobs" box is NOT
checked. Other print queues on the same PCs to other
lasers on deskjets do not have this problem. You can
manually delete the completed jobs.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! THANKS!

Did you try to remove the bidirectional support from the
port ? Last time that I've got this problem, it fixed it.

I have a similar problem: Win2K Pro printing through a D-
Link print server (DP 311U) via a wireless network. Print
jobs complete but are not removed from the queue. I used
my laptop to configure the print server and router and
mine is the only one that is doing this. Other laptops are
not having the issue - also runnng Win2K Pro. Have you
resolved the issue?

I read another posting which recommended unchecking the bi-
directional capability in the printer setup. This worked,
the items are now removed from the print queue.
