print view

I have the ruler set up with a 1.5 inch margin left and a 1 inch margin
right, leaving six inches of working space. The ruler shows all this properly.

I have the paper size set for 8.5 x 11 inches.

But when working in print view the screen shows "paper that is wider than
the ruler.
On the screen the paper "appears" to be some odd size like 10" x 11"

The formatting I have shows properly, and it prints OK, but it is next to
impossible to work this way because it throws off your "eye" by having all
that extra white space off on the right hand side.

My guess is that the document contains tracked changes or comments, and Word
is allowing for the "balloons." See
