Print Spooler in XP Keeps Stopping: Can't Install Print Driver

I can't install a printer driver on my HP Pavillion. I
think I've narrowed it down to the Print Spooler keeps
stopping. I restart it but I still can't "add a printer"
(no drivers show up at all). When I go back to check the
Print Spooler, it is stopped again (always). Please help
if you can.
