Print Mig issues. WINS?

After migrating a print server (x) config to server (y), I created a alias in
DNS pointing all traffic from X to Y both by name and IP. After completing
that I renamed server X and turned it off. I starter getting conplaints of
errors when printing stating "duplicate name exists on the network" and when
I attempt to UNC to the new server \\X I get a retun of "\\X network path
cannot be found..." I have gone ito all WINS servers and rep partners and
deleted all rescords pertaining to X and then Pushed/Pulled accross
domains..... still nothing....I have since undone everything and I am back
at the origan config, but I still need to move x to y....Ideas???

I think maybe I need to change the IP of X first, reboot, re register with
WINS, then change the name of X, Reboot agian, then add the new host
records.....

There is an issue when attempting to connect to resources on a server using
a CNAME record. Follow Microsoft Knowledge Base article 281308
(http://support.microsoft.com/?id=281308) to resolve the issue.
