Print file to Acrobat

I'm trying to print a Word doc. to a print file and then distilling it with
Acrobat Distiller. Problem is - the text doesn't come with the doc. when
viewing the PDF file - only the pics. and diagrams.
Funnily enough, bullet characters do come across.

Any ideas.

Try changing the document to a completely different font and try again. If
that works, the problem is in the fonts you've used. Check what's going on
on the font-embedding dialog.

Or go directly to PDFWriter. Is there some reason you need the print file
first?

Changing the font... ouch! Its a 130 page doc. filled with all sorts of pics.
and the like. I would hate the text reflow to go out.
I must admit that I never use Word to create print files (although I do from
a host of other apps.)
Am I needing the print file? Don't know? I'm trying to convert a town
planning doc. (16x11") from Word into a smaller physical size eg. letter, and
then into PDF.

I meant it only as an experiment to locate the problem. Save a copy of the
document, select all, set the font to Arial, see if the font prints OK.

In that case, no you don't need to create a print file. Open the document,
go to Print, select Distiller or PDFMaker as the printer.
