print directories

I have windows xp. I would like to print directory
files. In knowledge base article 321379 gives
instructions but I was apprehensive about the registry
editor. Is that part of the instruction a one time
edit? Don't want to cause any serious problems?

Using print screen is to small to read. Can you help?
 
Although originally written for WindowsNT, the instructions on this webpage
work very well.... and no Registry tweaks needed.
