Preview Pane Causes Outlook to cash

Hello;
If I start Outlook in safe mode, the preview pane is disabled and outlook works fine. But, because my user "Likes" the preview pane, I need to find a solution. When Outlook starts in regular mode, it crashes after 5 minutes with a Dr. Watson error saying Windows has closed the application.

I am running windows 2000 office, in corporate mode.

Does this happen for every mail or just one? Select a different message
first and then open the Preview Pane.

What exactly is logged to the Event Viewer regarding this?
