I have been using the preview pane window in outlook 2007 for a while.
Suddenly the preview pane will not show any email content - the pane is open
but empy.

Anybody have this same experience and can offer a fix?

I have the same issue, but to open the message in the preview pane I can do a
RGHT+click and it will open. Normally you should be able to L+click the
message and it should "preview. Any help here would be greatly appreciated.
I am running Vista Ultimate and Office 2k7 Pro.

Thanks

Greetings Forum,

I am also experiencing the same problem/symptoms on a laptop (running vista
and Outlook 2007) that belongs to one of the company's executives. I was
also able to use the right click work-around to resolve the issue. Ideally
though does anyone know what is causing this problem, and what the respective
fix is?

Thanks!
Keith

I was having that same issue, it seems to be an imcompatibility with Vista SP1 and Office 2007. I fixed it by installig Office 2007 SP1 update that became availible yesterday. It seems to have fixed the issue all together.

I was also having another issue along with the reading pane not functioning, Outlook would not close on its own. only way i could get it to shut down was to shut it down with task manager.

The Office service pack update seems to have fixed this issue as well.

The solution is SO easy it's DUMB. If you created a new User MAPI Profile
recently the problem can be fixed by doing the following.

1. Close Outlook
2. Open any other Office Program in that Suite version
3. FILL IN THE Name and Initial Window
4. Reopen Outlook
5. Check that Preview works and you can close windows and the Outlook Program.

THe problem is that the First-Launch User setup window gets hidden when
opening Outlook. Not other Outlook windows will open until the User NAME and
INITIALS are entered in this window that keeps disappearing on launch.
Launching anouther Office program gives you the User Setup window that
Outlook hides.

I hope that helps.
