Unable to preview documents in Outlook 2007

Guest

I am unable to preview Word, Excel, PowerPoint 2003/2007 or .pdf documents in
Outlook 2007. I have turned on the Attachment preview option in the Trust
center. Outlook tells me the document previewer is unavailable. How do I get
this?
I am using Vista Ultimate. I am unable to view these documents in the
preview pane. (My preview pane is open - I did it from
Organize->Layout->Preview pane. I also have the show preview handlers in the
folder properties checked). How can I see my documents in the preview pane?

"My preview pane is open - I did it from Organize->Layout->Preview pane."

This is not a valid Outlook option reference. Are you sure you are talking
about Outlook 2007 and not Windows Mail?

Tjis part of the question relates to Vista. Only the first part of my query
"I am unable to preview Word, Excel, PowerPoint 2003/2007 or .pdf documentsrelates to Outlook. Outlook 2007.

Where does it tell you it is not available? In Trust Center?
Note that by default Attachment Preview is enabled and the Trust Center has
an option which when enabled turns it Attachment Previewing off.

I know that it is on by default. But still, I made sure that it its turned
on. Outlook 2007 tells me a previewer is not available when I click on the
attachment and ask for a preview of Word, Excel & Powerpoint documents. I am
able to preview jpeg files, though.

I am having the same problem. When you open a new message in Outlook 2007 and
click on an attachment to preview it, it won't open. I have already checked
the settings in Tools, Trust Center, Attachment Handling.

Is this for all attachments?
What options do you get when you right-click on the attachment?
Remember that Outlook 2007 requires that viewers are installed to be able to
view attachments inline without opening them. That is the default when you
click on an attachment. Some viewers come with Outlook but very few other
viewers are available as yet. Double-click will open it with the defautl
application for that file type and right-click gives you options.

I got this solved !!! Thanks to my collegue Suresh !

This issue may occur if a beta release version of the 2007 Office suite was
installed on the computer that also ran a beta release version of Windows
Vista. The 2007 Office suite and Windows Vista were later upgraded to the
original release versions.
You may try the following steps to solve the problem:
Register ACTXPRXY.DLL and PROPSYS.DLL.
------------------------------------------------------------
1) Click Start, click All Programs, click Accessories, right-click Command
Prompt, and then click Run as administrator. If you are prompted for an
administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click
Continue.
2) Type regsvr32 %SystemRoot%\system32\actxprxy.dll , and then press ENTER.
3) When you receive the following message, click OK: DllRegisterServer in
actxprxy.dll succeeded.
4) Type regsvr32 %SystemRoot%\system32\propsys.dll , and then press ENTER.
5) When you receive the following message, click OK: DllRegisterServer in
propsys.dll succeeded.
