preview pane blank

For some reason all of a sudden I can not view any of my emails in outlook
express. I can view my emails as a attachment if I click on the paper clip
then click open.......there is just no preview of the message in the preview
window. Also, anythime i try to send a email I get a message saying "This
message has not completed downloading. It can not be saved until download is
complete." What in the heck is going on and how do I fix it?
