preparing for standby

I just reinstalled XP home. now when I go on line the computer goes to "preparing for standby" mode shuts down and then restarts on it own. Is there a fix for this problem or can somebody tell me what I did wrong.

nothing there but will search all drivers and software. So what you are saying it is something running that is causing the problem not a bug in XP

Thanks but have narrowed it down now to having Netscape running in the background and when I start Explorer it goes into this mode a couple of times. Is there something conflicting there with the two programs.
