Ppt 2007 how can I duplicate the colour of the fill of a shape

In Ppt 2003 there was a dropper icon that allowed you to store the formatting
of a shape and then reuse it. There seems to be no such equivalent in 2007.
Is there a way of taking the fill colour of one cell and reusing this in
another cell to make them match? Format painter will copy font colours and
styles but not fill colours.

There's never been a color picker or eyedropper tool in PowerPoint. If you
had one on your toolbar, you must have had an add-in installed. I use Pixie,
www.nattyware.com, as a color picker. It's not an add-in, but a small, handy
tool.

But the format painter will also copy format and color of the shape, if you
need more than the color. If using it, it's important to click on the border
of the shape to copy the format of the whole thing. If you click on the
text, it will copy text formatting only.

Best regards,
Ute

You can add this to the QAT by going to Office Button > PowerPoint Options >
Customise

You are looking for pick up style and apply style. Both can be found in
Commands Not in Ribbon

There are eyedroppers in PPT 2003, too, Ute. They had to be added to the
toolbars. They're called Pick Up Style and Apply Style. I think they're in
the Format command well in the toolbar customization dialog in 2003.

These aren't color pickers -- they're like Format Painter, but they hold the
style until you pick up a new one, so you don't have to go find the object
right then to pick up the style.

Thanks John.

I had been searching for this option for very long and I am glad this was
possible to do with Powerpoint without the use of any addon.
