PP XP vs PP 2000 - Custome Animation

In PP 2000, in Custom Animation, there is a list of objects which is called
"Order & Timing". This list is excellent for seeing all objects on the slide,
whether they are animated or not. In PP XP the Custom Animation is handled
differently and I can see only the objects that have been animated. This
makes it very difficult to identify an unanimated object which is deep down
on the slide, bring it to the top to edit the contents and then send it back
down.

How can I get a list of all objects on the slide in PP XP?

Hi,

Probably the easiest way is to get the Select Multiple Objects tool. Go to
Tools| Customize| Commands Tab| Drawing category and select the Select
Multiple Tools Command. Drag it and drop on a toolbar. Apart from that,
Steve Rindsberg has a Layer Manager where you can select them, rename them
and even hide them:

I'm fan of Layer manager. I asked for it! Although Steve ahs added lots of
other stuff I hadn't thought of.

Please tell us your PowerPoint / Windows version,

your cows are in the corn paddock, or
anything else relevant.

Glenn,

Thanks heapsly for this. I'll check tonight, but it does sound like it might
be the answer. The Order & Timing list is magnificent for managing objects,
high-lighting objects etc, without the danger of damaging them.

Thanks,
Alex

Alex,

"Tonight"? Sounds like you are on my time zone!

What you lose from not having the animation list is far outweighed by the
new features of PPT XP, imho.

This is for-sale add-in, but the free demo includes an Accessibility Assistant
that'll do just what you need. Gives you a list of shapes on the slide, lets
you change their order, delete them, move them, dupe them ... and other stuff.

Handy.

Free.
