PowerPoint Viewer 97 versus Windows XP

I'm using PowerPoint Viewer 97 release 2002 under Windows XP in order to
view presentations made in PPoint 2000.

The master slide of the presentation is formatted with a .gif image, and in
some other slides there are transparent graphics with actions, like "go to
next slide", "go to slide number nn", etc.

When executed, some slides appear with a blanc background instead of that
gif image. This occurs sometimes, and sometimes not. Under Windows 98 this
don't happens.

Is there any fix to PPviewer 97, or to Windows XP?

As an alternative, I've performed a test using PPviewer 2003 but the problem
is that the mouse pointer only recognizes the fill of the graphics with
configured actions and not the 'whole' graphic.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!
