PowerPoint Viewer 2007 timing errors

I think I may have found a bug in PowerPoint Viewer 2007.

I created a presentation using PowerPoint 2007, with animation on the
slides, where each of the items on each slide play "with previous" and a
timing.

Everythings works properly in PowerPoint, but on some of the slides using
the Viewer (on other machines that don't have Office loaded), some of the
items are delayed by the timing _after_ the previous.

For example, if I have 5 items on a slide, I want them to display at 0, 5,
10, 15 and 20 seconds respectively. But, using the Viewer, they display at 0,
5, 10, 25, 45.

I've narrowed down the problem.
Here are the steps to recreate the problem.
Open a new blank presentation in PowerPoint 2007.
Insert a Shape such as a rectangle.
Create an entrance animation for the rectangle.
Animation: Compress
Start: With Previous
Timing: 0
Speed: Medium (2 seconds)
Create an exit animation for the rectangle.
Animation: Grow & Turn
Start: With Previous
Timing: 3
Speed: Medium (2 seconds)

Copy and paste the rectangle, move it away from the first rectangle, and
change the timings for its animations.
Entrance animation for the second rectangle.
Animation: Compress
Start: With Previous
Timing: 6
Speed: Medium (2 seconds)
Exit animation for the second rectangle.
Animation: Grow & Turn
Start: With Previous
Timing: 9
Speed: Medium (2 seconds)

On the Animations tab, at the far right, click the "Automatically After"
checkbox and set the time to 12 seconds.

Add a second slide and put "The End" on the slide, for its title.
That's it.

In PowerPoint, when you play it, you will see the second slide in 12 seconds.
In PowerPoint Viewer, you will see the second slide in 28 seconds.

Upon further research, I've found that the PowerPoint Viewer does not support
all exit animations, in particular the "Grow & Turn" animation that I used.
