Ive got a powerpoint presentation which includes a .wav file which is about
40 meg. When I double click the .pps file, it takes aboput 15 seconds to
load...is this just cos of the size of that .wav or is there something else
going wrong.

Audio weight -- I suggest you convert the file to MP3 or WMA, being, as
these formats are, compressed, small and linked.

the Cds are for a client - I dont think they would have an mp3 player
installed etc.

WMA works fine on my system embeded in a powerpoint presentation - but do
you think other older systems would have trouble playing wma files? say a
machine running media player 6.0 from a few years back?

Okey...I must make similar judgement quite often, since I live in a
third-world country and you must be careful regarding applying 21rst century
tricks.

I don´t think we could classify mp3's as new format anymore, considering its
inmense popularity and demand. There is hardly anybody nowadays that hasn't
decoded a CD or downloaded mp3's from the net. Besides, almost everyone's
got a player installed that plays the format and already has the codec in
the system. We can´t say the same regarding WMA.

And remember...mp3's and WMA's are not embedded, they are linked. They must
be first copied into the presentation directory, then inserted and
afterwards the whole directory contents burned into the CD.

Good luck..and keep us posted.
