Powerpoint "Freezing" Computer

I recently had XP installed on my Sony laptop that
originally was ME to begin with. They totally stripped the
machine of everything on it. Now when I install
Powerpoint, the machine will freeze up indiscriminately
with a wi-fi card engaged. Without the card in, it seems
to work fine! Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
 
So just take the card out and do the install.

Or do you mean that you've already installed it but PPT freezes when you
have your wi-fi card engaged?
