Powerpoint Crashing when trying to Print -- Intermittent Problem

G

Guest

I've got one user when she tries to print from Powerpoint it crashes, no
specific error message given other than that it has to close down.

I have checked the event logs and found the following error in the event log

Faulting application powerpnt.exe, version 11.0.8110.0, stamp 4519c2a0,
faulting module rpcrt4.dll, version 5.1.2600.2180, stamp 411096ae, debug? 0,
fault address 0x0001a7f1.

We are using Office Xp professional
Powerpoint 2003

I have already, done a re-install on office 2003 and this has not resolved
this issue.

Could somebody please help me on this issue?

I would start by making sure you have all Windows and Office updates
installed.

Next, is the printer driver local or on a network? If you install it
locally, does that resolve the problem?

Also, in PPT, go to Tools | Options | Print and turn off background
printing. It can sometimes cause weird crashes.

If that doesn't resolve it, post back to this thread on the PowerPoint
newsgroup.
