power saving

My computer shuts down when I am in the middle of running
applications, online etc. The screen goes black and
a "power saving" message comes on the screen.

I attempted to disable the ACPI but when I try to
restart the computer it will not start up, it just keeps
restarting and asks for normal start up or last known good
configuration.

How can I disable the ACPI and get my computer to start up
or is there an alternative to disabling the ACPI and
disabling the power saving mode?
