power management for laptop

I have created an xp embedded OS for a laptop. The function to control the battery does not work. When I plug the battery into the laptop it seems the OS thinks the battery power is dead and it shuts down. I have all of the battery components installed, at least I think I do. Does anyone have any ideas what could be the problem? Below are the components I have installed
