Post SP2 woes

Yesterday, I installed SP2 (final, d/l from MSoft) on three PCs. One
has two Win XP partitions.

All went well on three. The fourth one went pear-shaped.

It appeared to install OK. On reboot, it took a long time to get past
the (black background) 'please wait' screen. When I could eventually
logon, I was greeted by a message that an RFC call had failed and that
the PC would be shut down in 60 secs. I also recall seeing something
like NT\Administrator. This was on the PC with two XP
installations...the other SP2 install was okay.

This also happened in safe mode (text and graphical).

I repaired my installation and I am left with two problems:-
1) there is a boot up delay of 1min 20 secs whilst the 'windows is
starting' screen. Normally, I don't see this.

2) The first logon always fails. I have to bring up task manager to
logoff (I get a message that explorer is not responding). The next
logon works okay.

Any ideas how to fix 1 & 2?

I am resigned to using my other XP partition and reinstalling, but
fixing these would be nice <g>.

TIA.

Cheers,

Guy

Fixed this myself. Anybody any ideas on the booting delay.
