Hello,

I was wondering if it was possible to put more than one application on a
cd/dvd with the option of selecting one to boot from ?

Absolutely. Lots of rescue cd's are done that way.

To boot refers to starting an operating system. Do you mean to "run" an
application?

Normally, applications are not installed on CD or DVD media.

What exactly are you trying to do?

Hi David,

I had a few programs like Acronis loader and a slipstreamed version of XP
and wanted to put them on the same CD such that when I boot from it it would
give me the option of picking which program to load/run ?

Great.

So how can I put a slipstreamed XP together with an Acronis boot program on
one CD ?

Great project. Enjoy researching it. Use Google. Look at other rescue
CD's to see how they did it. Use Google to get names/websites of other
rescue CD's. See if there are user forums. Bart's PE has a very active
user forum, for instance. Google "slipstreaming" and get lots of other
ideas.

This has nothing to do with Windows.

There is a way to make a bootable Windows CD. The BartPE boot
disc <http://www.nu2.nu/pebuilder/> is a good place to start, but it takes a lot
of time to find/create/add and test the additional plug-ins you may want or
need. There may be an Acronis plug-in available for this already. This would
give you the option to run Acronis after booting from the BartPE boot disc.

I recommend the UBCD4WIN CD instead. This is a BartPE CD on steroids. It
utilizes the Bart compiler (PEBuilder) to generate the ISO image and then burn
the image to a CD and it has most of the freeware utilities and drivers you'll
need already established for you. Naturally, some updates are required for the
AV utilities.

See this link for more info and to download all requirements, which now includes
the BartPE builder software. It's all free:

http://www.ubcd4win.com/

Note that you'll need to have a Windows XP SP2 installation CD to create this CD
but there is no Product Key required during creation nor is a product activation
required after installation.

Yes, it would be a great project.

I think in round about way it does.
And what's the harm in asking ? If you're so ticked off by it, you know you
don't need to reply.

voicing an opinion has nothing to do with being pissed off, your subject
matter is off topic for this area, please RESPECT the general rules of
behaviour, instead of being rude by ignoring someones opinion who is being
polite, and trying to push your rudeness off onto them. respect goes both
ways.

CD's are awfully cheap. Why not use two and insert the one for the boot
choice you want to start with? It seems like that approach would consume
much less setup time than what you are asking how to do.
