Plugging in USB printer leads to BSOD

Hi everyone. I have an HP s7320n PC running XP Media Center Edition. I
have been using my Epson Stylus Photo 925 printer on this machine for
at least three months with no problems. We had a power outage the other
day, and when I turned the printer back on, it caused the computer to
crash and enter an endless reboot loop. It would show the Windows XP
screen, go blank for a few seconds, then reboot.

I turned off the automatically restart on crash option and I now get a
BSOD with the following error codes:

***Stop 0x0000007E (0xC0000047, 0x804FCC24, 0xF7A17580, 0xF7A175D0)

If I boot up windows and plug in the printer after windows is up and
running, the little "New Hardware" balloons pop up from the system
tray, but then I quickly get the BSOD before it's loaded. This
particular printer has a built-in media card reader and it appears that
it may be crashing when it attempts to install those drivers, but I'm
not certain.

Unplugging the USB cable fixes the problem, plugging it back in
reproduces it. I've tried all of my USB ports, including attaching it
to an external hub, but nothing changes. I've also tried unplugging
everything but that printer. All of my other USB devices seem to be
fine. I've also tried uninstalling the printer and letting the computer
reinstall it. The same printer still works fine if plugged into both my
windows and mac laptops. Also, the same issue comes up if I boot into
safemode with the printer attached.

Anyhow, does anyone have any idea what is going on here? I can provide
whatever log files you think may be helpful, just let me know. I really
don't want to have to reinstall XP, so hopefully you all can help me
out.

Thanks

Thanks for the quick response. Unfortunately, none of the
issues/solutions described on aumha.org seem to fit the problem.
Specifically, my BSOD STOP message doesn't list a driver or anything
else to help troubleshoot. I only get the ***Stop 0x0000007E
(0xC0000047, 0x804FCC24, 0xF7A17580, 0xF7A175D0) code.

I was hopeful that one of the issues described (Stop Error 0x7E Occurs
in Usbhub.sys) would be the one even though usbhub.sys isn't
specifically mentioned in the error message, as the system appears to
crash when the printer USB hub is being installed. However, that issue
is due to USB bandwidth exceeding 100% and my error occurs even if no
other USB devices are connected.
