Please Help

I hope somone can help me
Every time I start the task manager ctrl+alt+delete
the managers window opens for a few seconds then closes
leaving me unable to use this function.

Has anyone got a solution for this problem

Regedit has the same problem

try this

Boot into Safe mode, press F8 usually and select Safe mode from list

then see if taskmanager opens

if so, do a search for wuaumqr.exe, probably in the 'windows' folder

delete it if its there

also look in regedit, assuming it now opens, for this key

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

look for any items there which may be launching a file that causes your
problem

delete the item from the Run key and the corresponding file
