Please Help with Remote Desktop!

Hi Everyone,

What I am trying to do I'm sure has been done, I'm just the moron
having issues.

I installed OpenSSH on my Windows XP box at home. On my router at
home, I forwarded port 22 to my Windows box.

On my PC at work, I installed Secure SSH Client. I can connect just
fine using the Secure SSH Client. But I want to run Remote Desktop. I
cannot get Remote Desktop to connect. I've tried a lot of IP's
including my internal IP, my external IP, 127.0.0.1, etc......no luck.

I just get errors about not being able to connect, or the host is too
busy, blah, blah, blah!

Can someone give me some pointers on how to get this to work?

Thanks!

You need to setup tunneling with your SSH client for Remote Desktop... See
this page for examples of that using PuTTY... In the example I use the
NetBIOS name for my PCs but you can also use the local private LAN IP
instead...

http://theillustratednetwork.mvps.org/Ssh/RemoteDesktopSSH.html#Install_and_configure PuTTY

Once you get that setup you then establish your SSH tunnel with the server
and use localhost:3390 as a calling address. See this for an example...

Now, when I connect, after a few seconds, SSH disconnects with some
error that says "Packet Too Long".

This is SOOOO annoying!
