Please Help....need to uninstall IE7

A

Angel

I have just accepted a new position working from home but for whatever reason
the system this company is using needs me to go back to Internet Explorer 6,
not the 7th version I have running under Vista, I have searched all over this
website and have not found a solution to this problem. One person asked a
similar question and was told he could not do it. I find it so hard to
believe that I can't uninstall 7 and install 6 on my brand new HP
dv9000series laptop and take this new position. Anyone have any other
suggestions??

You can not uninstall IE7 in Vista. You can not install a lower version
of IE in Vista. You can use a User-Agent which spoofs a lower level
of IE if that helps you use a particular web app.

Believe it. It's true in the same way that you can't go lower than IE6 in XP.
Each OS has a base level of the IE browser is built into it. You can't uninstall it
and you can't change its modules but you can substitute its User-Agent string
if that helps you use it with some backwards web apps.

Good luck
