Please help, my view source code will not work

When I click on the view source, nothing happens. I have
tried right clicking and also from the task bar view. I
have xp and my computer is only about 6 months old, but I
don't think the view source has ever worked. I am gearing
up to learn html and I really need this to work! Thanks
for your help!
