I have recently been having a major problem with my copy
of windows. Leaving my computer alone for about an hour,
my screen is literally filled with bull****. today, my
taskbar showed 49 instances of internet explorer open,
and 8 "ads". Since I have Kazaa on my computer, adware
has been a part of my system for a long time, and it has
always been a bother, but in the last 2 weeks it has
grown to be a staggeringly obtrusive problem. every thing
that I do on my computer, about 2-3 ads pop up on my
screen, and leaving it alone makes the situation worse.
while playing games such as Midtown Madness 2 or Grand
Theft auto 3, It has become impossible for me to play the
game because of the never-ending times the game freezes
because of pop-ups. I have downloaded many remedies for
this, but none work. I beg of you, PLEASE help me with
this situation. If you an tell me how to
reconfigure "msconfig" or at least advise software to
use, that would be great. my computer has become nothing
but a paperweight since this problem has begun to spread.
THANK YOU very much for reading this.

Hello
there are a lot of different removal tools the one I use
is Spy Sweeper and I leave it turned off and just run a
sweep about every 3-4 weeks.

http://www.spysweeper.com/

oh ya it is free too
Hope this helps
Jim

Keep in mind that if you remove the spyware that comes with Kazaa, you will no longer be able to use Kazaa whatsoever. But I'm sure at this point that you'd rather have a working machine than being able to download music.

But, there is Kazaa Lite, which already has the spyware/malware removed, and
works just fine. Find a link for : "Kazaa Lite" download it, uninstall
Kazaa, then install Kazaa Lite.

Start by cleaning the machine...

1. Run a good anti-virus program.

2. Run AdAware...with the latest definitions for both of these.

3. Run a good firewall program...one that can block ActiveX and Java
scripts.

4. Run pop-up stopper.

Have a nice week...

After you have finished using Kazaa, do you leave your
computer on at all times?, if so make sure after you have
used Kazaa, that you close the icon that is in your tray
near the clock---this way you will not get as many popup
ads or spyware on your system.

When you run the adaware program you will be losing
Kazaa, if you keep the Kazaa icon on your desktop you can
always re download your Kazaa, after running the adaware
program from lavasoft. When you have run the adaware
program you will only find 30 to 40 objects.

I know this because this is what I do.

Hope it helps

Use KazaLite and dont upgrade

You can download Kazaa Lite at:

http://www.stateofmind.me.uk/main.php?id=download

Be sure to UNINSTALL Kazaa before installing Kazaa Lite, which is Kazaa
without the adware/spyware/scumware. If you ever get a message window that
asks you to UPGRADE, don't do it, because the adware/spyware/scumware will
be reinstalled.
