Please help me,......chipmonk sound

all of my audio sounds high pitch, like chipmonks. I've
checked for viruses, hardware conflicts, all drivers are
up to date, and ive bought new speakers (amp) all to no
avail. please help me? i am running an msi mainboard with
onboard audio, running winxp operating system thanx in
advance ...Chris

I've had this problem once.. I suspect that there is a
frequency mismatch between your front side bus and the
processor, but it works anyway - to cause your onboard
audio to double-sample (kinda - this is not whats really
going on, its just easier to explain). If you can, reset
your BIOS to default settings, or adjust your FSB
frequency, and if you can enable ESCD for the next boot.

I had some mp3's that did the same thing; however, I came
up with a different conclusion than the other fella...I
believe it is due to corrupt files possibly due to
copyright infringement safeguards. Just a theory I have
embraced.
