I have been having problems with my computer.when I try to run Chkdsk /f from the command prompt I
get the error "The type of system is Fat32 Cannot lock
current drive.""Chkdsk canot run because the volume is
in use by another process. Would you like to schedule
this to run at start up?" Type Yes or No? I type in yes and Restart and it stills tells me the same thing
I can't run defrag cause it tells me i have problems. So i was told to try this ( Start | Run | Type: cmd | OK

Type: fsutil dirty query C: | ENTE

This will report whether C: is dirty or NOT dirty

Well it says my C: is dirty So how do I fix this. Please help if u can. Thanks

Hi Elaine,

Boot the WinXP CD and run the Recovery Console, run "chkdsk C: /r" from the
command prompt.
