Play objects not working

The wierdest thing after I reinstalled windows xp:
The "play all objects" (in common functions in windows explorer) is not
working when I'm trying to play all mp3 files in a folder. I click on
the play icon and nothing happens. Mp3's are associated with windows
media player btw. I've tried re-installing the media player from the cd
and also tried downloading both windows media player 10 and 11 beta to
see if it might solve the problem, but sadly not. This is not a big
issue or anything, but if there is a way to fix this I would be very
happy since it's a neat function. Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

This is usually caused by third-party shell extensions. See my article here:
