PING GETTING ME WRONG IP ADDRESS

I have w2k server and xp client.

When I try to ping my server - ping abc, it shows me wrong ip address.

How can I fix this or do I have to do something with dns or wins ?

Appreciate if someone please help.

Does the server have 2 nics and is it using RRAS as well? Make sure you've
done the regedits in 292822.
