Pin to start menu

Somehow I was able to pin a document to the upper left portion of my start
menu (XP Pro) but for the life of me I can't figure out how to pin another
document up there. When I drag it to the start button I get the slash
circle.

Any help will be appreciated.

Dragging and dropping a document onto the start button works ok for me. You
get the circle with the slash just as you approach the start button, but
moveing the mouse pinter lower down gets rid of it and the file drops onto
the start menu.

When you right click the icon, note the choice "pin to start menu"

I've moved it all over the start button and even hovered over start long
enough to make the menu open then try to place it in the right spot - I get
the slash-circle no matter where I try to put it.

Isn't there. I've tinkered around and that option appears for applications,
but not documents. Oddly enough, I can't drag/drop applications to the left
side of the start menu, either.

I have a similar problem. I cannot add or remove items from the start menu -
It will not let me right click at all on any of the itmes in the Start Menu.
