I just upgraded to Frontpage 2003. I was using 2000. I just added 2 photos
to my site, and they are showing up as red X. I thought I was doing
everything correctly. I am going to have many more photos to publish this
week, and I want to make sure they'll be ok.
Thanks,
Felicia
site is sssq.org

Besides what ET posted, you should publish the entire site after you upgrade
to get everything in sync.

Thanks for the response. I tried to edit the pics in the photo software and
import them into my FP web. Then I do Insert, picture (from file). I
publish only this page and the index page (also with a new photo). Still no
luck!!!

My guess is that you have not published the photo's to your web site.

Another thing, the photos show up fine in "Preview in Browser"

.
Make sure that the images are in the images folder in you
hard drive web folder. Sometimes when you place new images
as you did, the folder is different. When you close the
page, check the folder name. If is not pointing to your
site images folder, click on the change folder button....

it seems to be in the right folder....should I send any of the html language
for you guys to analyze?? I am getting so frustrated!!!

The source of this one seems to be OK:
http://sssq.org/images/israelArrivalA.jpg ... so I have to wonder if you are
sure you have uploaded the image as well as the html.
Why don't you put a bit of padding around that one big table cell so that
the text doesn't bump into it on the left. Also, that's a very wide photo
making the lines of text awfully wide as well.

All her other images are in the root directory, this one is in the images directory ... probaby not the problem...but the image doesn't seem to exist in either directory.

Felicia...try Recalculate Hyperlinks then republish.

If that doesn't work, I'd try re-Importing the image, and re-Inserting it into design then re-publish...I'd even rename it too.

Second thought I wonder if that image is over 1 meg?

I tried to recalculate, I re-imported, I changed the name... I don't think
the image is over 1 meg.... could this have anything to do with that I am
"using over" a previous page? (I cut out all the stuff from last years Trip
to Israel, and I am re-using the page) Maybe there's some leftover html
stuff?????????

Ensure that you:

1) you import the image first, then link to it
2) publish the images to the same directory on the server.

did you publish the actual images ??

Just what is the file size of the image??

Welp...I wonder if the image is really in the images folder.

Open your site live with FP, check the images folder and see it that file is really up on the server. If it is there do a Recalculate Hyperlinks while online with the server.

What do you mean you're using it over? If it worked before and all you did was re-position it in a new page then it should still work.

If you manipulated it in an image editor...mayhaps you messed up the image (like working with it in CYMK workspace instead of RGB).

Try just posting the URL to the image for us to view...let's see if we can see it (not in the page..just the path to the image)
