Picture and Fax Viewer not working

Hi there,
Did an upgrade from Win98 to XP Home. One feature of XP
I was looking forward to is the Picture and Fax viewer,
with the slideshows and all.

However, JPGs won't open at all when double clicked...it
just sits there and does nothing. If I choose a folder
and try to have it do a slide show, it closes the
Explorer window, then does nothing. I have searched the
KB to no great avail... Any help will be appreciated.
 
Found the answer to my question amongst other problems
listed on this newsgroup:

Try this, it may restore the option:

go to...Start / Run and type:

"REGSVR32 SHIMGVW.DLL"
(without the quotes)(Yes, there's
a space between 2 and S)

Click...OK.
