Picture and Fax Viewer Icon

I

IS

After installing Fireworks on my computer they make them selves the default
JPG and GIF viewer without asking. I've restored the Windows Picture and Fax
Viewer as a default but the Fireworks logo is still there.
Does anyone know where the Win . . .Viewer icon is?
It's not important but I'd much rather see it than the Macromedia icon.
I don't know why they do this.

Thanks.

You should be able to change the default icon via Folder Options, File Types dialog. If not, type REGSVR32 /i SHIMGVW.DLL in Start, Run dialog. Restart Windows.

Another option is to alter the registry:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.jpg
Set the value for (default) to jpegfile

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\jpegfile\DefaultIcon
Set the value for (default) to "shimgvw.dll,3" (without " )

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.gif
(default) to giffile

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\giffile\DefaultIcon
(default) to "shimgvw.dll,2"

I got it.
The ""REGSVR32 /i SHIMGVW.DLL"" Worked perfectly.

Thanks.
