Mark,
Dont go and blame your sister just yet. My computer doe
the same thing. I upgrated to SP2 and only my .bmp files
open right up to Arcsoft Photosuite and not the viewer
for which i like better. You must also have a HP. If you
find a way to fix it , please post.

Sue.

Are your image associations correct now?

Maybe the icon will be OK after a restart.

Or...Try this, maybe it will restore the icon:

go to...Start / Run and type:

"REGSVR32 SHIMGVW.DLL"
(without the quotes)(Yes, there's
a space between 2 and S)

Click...OK.

A dialog box should report the following:

"DllRegisterServer in SHIMGVW.DLL succeeded"

If you are still having a problem with the
icon...

try this...

Open a folder and go to...Tools / Folder
Options / File Types tab...

Scroll to BMP Bitmap Image

Select BMP and click the Advanced
button...now click the "Change Icon"
button...

Make your choice...OK / OK / Close...
