Photos try to open in IE8

John

I opened a photo from an e-mail and got a error message "file does not have a
program associatedwith it for preforming this action. (the file ext is .jpg)
I then opened the photo in IE8. Now all my photos try to open in IE8 and I
get the error message IE8 has encountered a problem and needs to close. I
re-installed IE8 from MS website but that did not help. I also restored to an
earlier date and that did not help. If I right click the photo and scroll
down to open with, then click open with Windows Picture and fax viewer. I get
the message Run a DLL as an App has encountered a problem and needs to close.
We are sorry for the inconvenience. Does anyone have an idea what might have
happened?

Also it may help to run the following command
tp force a reinstall of WP&F Viewer:

Go to...Start / Run and Type or Copy/Paste
regsvr32 /i shimgvw.dll
(yes, the space after the 2 and the space
after the i is required)

(You should see a dialog box that says:
DllRegisterServer and DllInstall in shimgvw.dll succeeded

Good luck.....
