phone problems

i am having some trouble i am trying to phone someone from my computer
i ring them up and i hear them saying hello but i cant seem to talk to them
please help i am using phone dialer

If your using phone dialer that explains why it doesn't work. As it's name implies, it dials phone numbers, that's it. It is not a
telephone interface and will not allow you to talk to people via your PC, you need 3rd party software for that.

Try your local software retailer or any other place one would purchase software.

If the modem is voice capable, it usually has connections for mic and
speaker? Try using these..

True, you still generally need a software interface to bring the whole thing together.

i am getting a bit sick of this i dial my friends phone number from my
computer using phone dialer i hear the modem ringing and i can hear them
talking but i cant talk back why.
