Philips CDRW2400

My Win 2K is not seeing this as a CD-RW drive, merely as a
regular CD-ROM drive, is there any way I can change this?
I do have a driver disk from Philips, but the install
program keeps crashing. I have checked at Philips'
website, but they have no drivers for DL. HELP!!!

Michael - I assume you know that W2k does not have built-in CD
write/rewrite support; you must use 3rd party software for this. It's
usually included in the purchased package (Nero, etc.). It's not a
matter of Explorer drag-and-drop to write files/directories to the CD...

If the W2k device driver can't be loaded, that's a matter to discuss
with Phillips tech support. If necessary, they should be able either to
replace the CD or give you online access to a tested driver, if in fact
they've written one for W2k.
